Abbas Akbari Holds Workshop in Berlin

Celebrating the publication of “Luster Ceramics: Shimmering Secrets” (Lusterkeramik: Schillerndes Geheimnis) at Museum für Islamische Kunst, Berlin, Dr. Abbas Akbari was invited to the museum to hold an educational workshop on luster ceramics. This workshop focused on theoretical and practical aspects of the realization of such artifacts. 
The workshop which lasted for two weeks from August 21st to September 4th, 2022 covered various processes of the creation of such artistic forms; 20 experts, curators, and other interested parties participated in this gathering.
Among the achievements of this two-week workshop was the preparation of technical samples done on pottery and glass and also disambiguation regarding the manufacturing processes and technical and historical aspects of this artistic practice.
Pergamonmuseum which exhibits world renowned historical pieces is in part famous for its exhibits of Kashan’s prayer niche (called miḥrāb) from the Maidān mosque in Kashan that has 74 individual tiles, which is embossed with models, painted and glazed.
Dr. Akbari is a faculty member at Department of Fine Arts Studies, University of Kashan. He has been traveling and holding exhibitions on multiple international venues throughout his artistic career. His expertise on Pottery and Ceramics has brought many achievements to this member at University of Kashan.
