International Office Holds Workshop on DAAD – Humboldt Funding Opportunities

Earlier this week, on Saturday, October 13, Professor Axel Klien, held a workshop on funding and scholarship opportunities in Germany available for students and faculty members of University of Kashan. In this meeting, graduates, postgraduates, and faculty members were informed of the opportunities which lies ahead of them in an international scene most importantly in Germany. He also delivered important information for effective methods of correspondences and communication with the scholars abroad, particularly in Germany.

Professor Axel Klein is a faculty member at Department of Chemistry, University of Cologne. He is also currently a board member of DAAD.

DAAD stands for “Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst” or the German Academic Exchange Service. It is a German organization that provides funding for students under the international academic exchange system. It is the largest such organization in Germany and gets its funding from various sources including the federal government, private institutions, and agencies of higher educational institutions like universities and colleges among others.

The DAAD head office is located in Germany. However, with 15 branch offices across the globe and a further 50 international information centers, the DAAD is represented by a worldwide network. One of the DAAD international information centers is located at Tehran.
